The Springdale Sun considers voting an act that reflects a citizen’s concern for their town. In essence, therefore, it reflects a person’s concern for others, for neighbors, for community. In line with that belief, only informed voting is a viable way to honor that vote.
There are many ways to become informed, including basically just knowing the candidates. This is a small town, after all. TSS is another resource for informing your voting decisions. Thursdays Meet the Candidate Night is a super good way to learn more and thus, vote better.
All opinion pieces on why we should or shouldn’t vote for particular candidates are welcomed and will be published. If you don’t contribute your opinions, you’re stuck with mine. I will never knowingly print anything that is not true.
You should be receiving your ballots soon. Between now and November 4, voting day, are two more Tuesdays, two more issues that will be a bit heavy on local politics.
This Thursday, will be a candidate Q and A at 6 pm at the CCC. Thank you to the Springdale Community Forum for putting this helpful, informative night together.
Also, thank you to Stan Smith who had scheduled a free movie at Bumbleberry with the director himself coming to inform and enlighten. Even though they had scheduled this prior to the Candidate Night being scheduled, Stan was willing to change dates. The movie’s director, TC Christensen, likewise rescheduled. Wow. Thank you to both of these clearly civic-minded gentlemen. Both events sound amazing and worth our time.
Wednesday, October 15, 7 pm, at the Bumbleberry Theater, Raising the Bar, with director T C Christensen.
Meet the Candidates, Thursday, October 16, 6 pm, at the CCC.
P.S. The Springdale Sun is not associated with the Springdale Community Forum. They are a completely independent group about which I knew nothing until they asked to put articles in TSS. I expect we all agree it’s a fabulous idea.
