Five County Association of Governments
The following email was sent to Springdale residents who get such things:
“The Five County Association of Governments is seeking comment on the draft of the Five County Multi-Jurisdictional Natural Hazard Mitigation Plan. The purpose of this plan is to increase community resilience to identified natural hazards through local action. A 14-day public comment period will commence on Wednesday, October 21, and end on Wednesday, November 4. Interested persons may review the draft plan at www.fivecounty.utah.gov/hazardmitigationplan/. We encourage participating communities to share this announcement and the draft plan with their residents and the public as they see fit to help promote awareness and encourage public participation in the planning process. To submit comments or request further information, please contact Mike Johnson at mjohnson@fivecounty.utah.gov or 435-673-3548, ext. 165."
I checked it out — well, I tried. If anyone has the savvy and time to make more sense of this than I can, please inform us. Is there something that will come back to bite us and they’ll be able to say, “Hey, we sent out the information (all five million words of it) and gave you two weeks to respond. Too late now.”
