The Next Planning Commission Regular Meeting
is this Wednesday, 5pm, CCC
They will be discussing 1. a proposed ordinance change to bring Village Commercial zoning requirements in line with those already established in Central Commercial, as well as Residential zonings which allow smaller percentages of land that is open or landscaped, depending upon the size of the parcel. This allows more properties to be reasonably developed in accordance with Town goals. (Contact Niall Connolly)
2. a request to convert a parcel zoned Foothill Residential to be used under the Workforce Housing Overlay Zone. (Contact Niall Connolly)
3. Ordinance 2026-09 Amending Chapter 10-21-8 of the Town Code relating to maintenance and repair of noncomplying buildings and inserting a new section of Code dealing with involuntary removal of a noncomplying building. Staff contact: Niall Connolly
4. Public Hearing: Ordinance 2026-10 Amending Chapter 10-21 of the Town Code relating to renovation and redevelopment of noncomplying buildings in the commercial zones. Staff contact: Niall Connolly

Brief comment on item 2. I cannot imagine how the workforce housing overlay zone could be used any better, frankly. It is clear that those who live near there should be those whose opinions matter most. Ms La Fave’s request to apply the overlay so she can build another home on her 2 acre parcel was met with wholehearted agreement by those who took the time to write. It was quite gratifying to read 3 letters in support of her request.
