Ribbon Cutting

The George A Barker River Park expansion is complete! and the ribbon cutting ceremony, held last Friday, (Oct 16, 2026) was quite lovely. The speakers, those who had been most involved in bringing it to fruition, all thanked each other and then they each thanked the residents of Springdale. The weather was perfect; the park looked wonderful. Becky Barker, George’s wife, was there. It was all very “kumbaya” and community.

Fun fact: It was Rick Wixom who first noticed the parcel next to the park, which savvy sighting eventually led to the town acquiring it. Kudos and appreciation to our former Town Manager.
