Speaking of Zion Canyon Mesa

Zion Canyon Mesa and the St. George Astronomy Group invite you to a spectacular public Star Party. Held at the Mesa on Saturday, June 13th from 9:30 to 11:30 pm. This lovely event is free and all ages are welcome. Zion Canyon Mesa is located just off Lion Blvd. The road up the hill to the site starts just across Lion Blvd from the town offices. If you look closely, there is a paved driveway right at the junction of Lion Blvd and Winderland that takes off to the right. There is a gate, which would be open for the Star Party. If you look on maps online, it will likely refer to the Mesa driveway as "Water Tower Road.” The drive up to the top of the "mesa" is paved all the way, but steep and fairly long, although townspeople walk it for exercise often.

There will be a shuttle at the CCC parking lot to take people to the Star Party; it will likely run continuously from just before 9:30 until there are no passengers needing a ride. See page 7.
