A Word of Explanation

In case you missed the Mayor’s offering in the December Town newsletter, she quoted an article encouraging empathy for those who run for office, encouraging civility and the importance of understanding before criticizing.

Mayor Bruno then called for greater kindness from us saying, “If you ran a negative campaign, you're part of the problem. If you used social media, a mailer, or a "newspaper" to attack candidates for office, you're also part of the problem. There's no honor in holding old grudges, telling lies, cheating, calling people names, harassing Town staff, or being mean-spirited to other members of this community..”

I asked her for specifics because I saw all the mailers, social media posts, and The Springdale Sun’s articles and saw no such attacks — there were certainly things that were not always in favor of her or her actions but nothing untrue, no hint of cheating, being mean, etc. She did not reply to my request.

Basically, she called many unnamed Springdalians liars, and cheaters who hold grudges, harass Town staff, and are mean to other members of this community. Not one example. Well, except hers.
