Medical Clinic

In talking with several people over the past few weeks, the proposed medical clinic came up. (I promise I didn’t goad them) and my sense is people think building a new one is a waste of time and money. My opinion is that the opinion of the majority should form the decision. — not just 5 members of council even though they were elected. I have no idea how to ascertain what that majority opinion is, however. Before anyone can have a really informed opinion anyway, the following questions need to be answered. (I am still working on this. I assume Town Council is, too. I had hoped to have the answers for this issue, but have not done so. Apologies.)

  • What services would be provided in a new building, presumably there would be more services not just more room for the same services?
  • How much money is Family Health willing to commit to paying monthly for that new building?
  • How many years would they commit to running the new clinic?
  • What would the hours be if Springdale builds the new medical clinic? One comment made by Ms. Wright seemed to indicate it would have the same limited hours but I believe I misunderstood even though I listened to it more than once.
  • Just how much money out of Springdale’s coffers would be required to build the clinic?

If you can think of other important questions needing to be answered before the decision is finalized, the town will be better if you let them be known.
