Project Overview
The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) is installing over 50 miles of fiber optic cable along State Route 9 and the Zion-Mount Carmel Highway. The fiber optic network will support various Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) devices, including traffic cameras, road signs, and weather stations. This initiative is part of UDOT's broader effort to expand and modernize the state's fiber optic infrastructure and enhance connectivity.
Work began Wednesday, June 3, and is anticipated to be completed by December 2026.
