Town Hall
Upcoming Town Council Meeting

The Town Council meeting tomorrow at 5pm at the CCC has a full agenda list of items. This article will address only a few. Town Staff are getting raises as per the chart below. If I have any complaint, it would be that a few staff members are under-compensated. The table does not include perks that might make their salary more than it seems.
The Council will also be discussing whether to donate funds collected on July 4 on Lion Bl to Zion Forever. the non-profit fundraising partner for Zion National Park. One local wrote a letter opposing this action as that has not been the intent of monies collected from parking. The point is valid. The Forever Project seems fabulous to me so the town donating about $1,000 to it also seems valid.
Perhaps in lieu of the donation the town could expend significant effort to encourage people to attend the July 4th fundraiser at the OC Tanner Theater and/or donate to the cause. That might raise more than the expected revenue from the parking while not straying from their general policy of using parking revenues for transportation related expenses.
