Is Anything as Enigmatic as … Nothing?

The Springdale Sun gives you, ta da, poems about nothing

Thinking About Nothing

(Inspired by the last words of Abélard, which were, “I don’t know.”)

Something is better than nothing But how would you know? Something isn’t nothing; it’s something. Better is something too. Nothing is nothing. Maybe nothing is better. But you don’t know.

Thinking About Nothing

(inspired by the last words of Héloǐse, which were, “In death at last let me rest with Abélard.”)

Something is better than nothing. I state that as provable fact. At least, indeed, for most things, Those things for which I’ve known lack. Some food is better than none. Certainly all would agree? Some friends, some beauty, some wisdom, some kindness, some challenge, some fun, some shelter, some money, some clothing, . . . Surpass their reciprocal nudity.
