Planning Commission
While watching the most recent meeting of the Planning Commission it struck me, and not for the first time, that being assigned to the commission might just be against the Geneva Convention, you know, the article against cruel and unusual punishment.
They discussed, and NOT for the first time, Luke Wilson and his parking lot and whether he needs this study or just that study and what constitutes a small business. Can it roll away? Or no. And he didn’t get appropriate approval to start this change but then he stopped and made the appropriate requests and submissions. Can they retro ask for something when he felt he had jumped through all the hoops required and so forth and so on and back and forth and should they table it — again.
You might want to read the letters people wrote concerning the project if you’re not yet sufficiently confused. They were good, thoughtful, sounded knowledgeable to me and disagreed with each other diametrically.
Ultimately they decided to not approve his request. And here’s what’s the most impressive: everyone, including Mr. Wilson, stayed calm, engaged, and courteous. To Mr. Wilson’s credit, after the discussion and information dissemination and clarification from staff and his request was denied, he thanked the Commission, said he felt he had learned enough to where he felt he could re-submit with a better idea of direction to take.
I have neither the smarts nor the motivation to spend the time necessary to give a better summation. If interested: https://www.youtube.com/@SpringdaleTownPublicMeetings
